Engagement Session with Kelly and Colin

With every passing year… I’m growing more and more in love with my job.   And while I am always striving to improve… and to really find myself as an artist… one thing remains the same….  I freakin’ LOVE what I do!    Recently the past few years… I’ve been traveling more for work.    I’m prepping for an engagement session in Charleston this week… and I’ll be heading to Haiti early November.  But… this engagement session took me to the Mount Washington Resort up in Bretton Woods NH!  (I’ve been living in NH now for 11 years… and this is the FIRST TIME that I have seen Mount Washington!  (Sad… I know! LOL)  But thanks to Kelly and Colin- I got to experience it for the first time.  With them!

I met them there… and while my eyes were HUGE in awe of the beauty of this place… Colin bought us a few drinks and we got to really enjoy some awesome conversation!  These two know most of the peeps on a first name basis… and that really hit home.  It told me that this location really has to mean something to them.  (After all, Kelly and Colin will be getting Married at this majestic hotel mid-January)    Back to the conversation!! ha  That’s one thing that I look forward to most during engagement sessions-  it’s the laid-back conversation with my couples.   In other words… it’s us really getting to know one another.  (And this is the most important part of the session…. it’s building rapport, because with trust… magical pictures are made.)

Now…these two… WOW.  Like freakin’ Holy Smokes “WOW”!   The way these two just melt into one another… and the way they laugh, it’s really quite amazing.   (And it made my job SOOO much easier!)   I’m not trying to capture perfection.   Nope…Rather… I’m  trying to capture the true interaction between the couple.  To see the way Colin loves on Kelly… and the way he protects her is pretty awesome,  that the most challenging part of the session was trying to get that traditional “Posed Portrait”.  (AKA {to those who know me}… as the good ole’ “GRANDMA SHOT”… Good thing I don’t focus on these kinds of images! haha)   And that is a compliment… because I don’t LOVE “Grandma shots’.    HAHA

Kelly and Colin met in the “New” old fashioned way.   Match.com.   Their story is another success!   It’s clear that these two are made for each other.   In the images you were about to see… there was very little prompting…  this is all them folks!  (wanna see??…. keep on scrolling!)  ENJOY!
