How to Stay Healthy While Planning Your Wedding

Wedding planning can be super stressful with many things that can give you a headache. Don’t add health on your list of concerns, but instead try some of these tips that will make the period of wedding preparations a piece of (wedding) cake. These tips will calm your mind, keep your body healthy and make you look your best for the wedding. Take a look.

Catch enough ZZZs

Getting enough sleep is a crucial part of a healthy lifestyle. Sleep will not only give you enough energy to tackle wedding planning, but also boost your immune system, keep your skin fresh and glowing, your mood stable and pleasant and your mind sharp, and you will need all of these to get through this stressful period. If all that fuss is turning you into an insomniac, you can try taking some natural melatonin supplements to help you sleep like a baby.

Look good in your wedding gown

Taking up some exercise will not only make you look amazing in your wedding gown, but it will also reduce stress. It will help you clear your head and you will instantly feel better about yourself. You can easily put your wedding planning on hold and exercise a few times a week. Make sure to pick something you like doing. If you don’t like to jog, don’t, but take up swimming, martial arts classes or some team sport instead. Exercise is super healthy for you, so you can keep it up after the wedding as well.

Eat healthy

Because of all the stress wedding planning can bring, you will often find yourself dying for unhealthy comfort food that can ruin your health and your figure. Try to resist, and turn to healthy food instead. A proper diet will help you recover from your workouts faster and you will be able to maintain your ideal weight. Make your meals balanced with a mix of proteins, whole grains, veggies, fruit and plenty of water. You can try some awesome healthy recipes such as Chicken and Broccoli Stir-Fry you can prepare under 30 minutes, or some Low-Cal Fettuccine Alfredo with low-fat cream cheese instead of regular cream. Naturally, you can allow yourself an occasional splurge. How else are you going to pick your wedding cake and menu? Plus, it helps with your sanity.

Make healthy drink choices

When it comes to drinks, make sure you’re well hydrated. Drink plenty of water, especially if you’re planning to have a summer wedding. All that running around will certainly make you lose a lot of fluid. If you’re a coffee addict, better skip the milk and take your coffee plain. Milk can be hard to digest and it can slow down your metabolism. You can also start making freshly squeezed juices. Here you can rely on KitchenAid  to get the most out of your fruit. You can combine many different flavors, and also try mixing fruit and veggies. Even though fresh juices can be super tasty, try to be moderate. Also, you can enrich your juices with some lemon and ginger for the ultimate taste and detox treatment.

Meditate on it

In order to stay healthy throughout your wedding planning period, you need more than a good diet and exercise. You need to stay Zen, too. Take some “me-time” and try meditation, yoga, massage or a looooong bubble bath. Spiritual moments like these will chase away all the physical and emotional stress and keep you mentally healthy. Schedule some of these relaxing activities at least once a week and you will feel better than ever.

Wedding planning can be an exciting and fun period, but also stressful and chaotic, so make sure you stay healthy. Get enough sleep, eat healthy food and incorporate some physical activity, as well as yoga or meditation into your schedule, and you will enjoy wedding planning instead of dreading it.
