Let me tell you about the dynamic duo Nelson and Kay – these two are the definition of couple goals! I’ve known them since the day Nelson decided to sweep Kay off her feet with the most epic surprise proposal ever. I was there, camera in hand, capturing all the love-filled vibes as Nelson got down on one knee. So, when they approached me to be their engagement photographer, I didn’t think twice. Since our first meeting, we instantly clicked, and I wouldn’t trade being part of their journey for anything. These two are not just madly in love; they’re also a blast to be around! Their engagement session at Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts, was a rollercoaster of laughs, smiles, and those sweet moments that make you believe in love.
Kay and Nelson’s journey together began online, their initial conversation filled with an endearing cheesiness that still makes them laugh today. Their first date was at a coffee shop in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on a day when the skies decided to pour. Kay, armed with her trusty purple umbrella (the same one from the proposal!), was lost in the parking garage. Despite her best attempts to be punctual, she ended up twenty minutes late. But Nelson, ever so patient, waited for her calmly.
Later that day, Nelson and Kay chatted on a bench, followed by an ice cream adventure, which quickly turned into a comedy of melting treats and a dash to T.J. Maxx for napkins! Amidst the laughter and sticky fingers, they both felt a connection; they had found their forever person in each other.
Fast forward to the proposal day, where, once again, rain made a guest appearance. Though outwardly composed, Nelson was a bundle of nerves during his morning spin class. But when it came time to pop the question, he handled the weather-induced complications like a pro, creating a perfect moment for Kay (and yes, the purple umbrella was there, too!). Nelson and Kay’s love story is a beautiful blend of sweet moments, shared laughter, and the kind of love that turns rainy days into cherished memories.
Nelson and Kay had the most dreamy engagement session at Walden Pond. Though my couple kept everything simple and sweet, their engagement photos show how much they love and dote on each other. Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts, is a beautiful place surrounded by lush greenery, muddy pathways, and a serene pond. It’s a lovely place for couples and families to have some intimate or fun time, whether relaxing by the water, hiking, or taking a dip!
The newly engaged couple strolled hand-in-hand, and I got some great shots of them enjoying their time together. Kay and Nelson are such a fun couple to be around and didn’t need any posing cues – they were such naturals! They looked so happy and excited to begin this new venture in their relationship, and every warm embrace and kiss said it all.
As we continued our session, Kay quickly changed into her second outfit and looked amazing in her pretty white dress! For the first half, Kay had donned a shimmery dress and looked just as gorgeous. On the other hand, Nelson looked handsome in his black t-shirt, which he paired with a brown leather jacket and denim jeans. The fall colors and charming and enchanting cobblestone pathways made it seem like we were in a wonderland. As a photographer, I couldn’t get enough of the diverse and picturesque backgrounds that Walden Pond had to offer.
Even though the weather was a little chilly, the bride and groom-to-be were so happy to be outside, surrounded by the gorgeous fall aesthetics. Just being themselves was enough to get some super romantic portraits of Kay and Nelson. The fact that they were having such a good time together made it so easy to capture their bond through photos.
Kay and Nelson, you both are so full of life! Meeting you was such an incredible experience! Thank you for choosing me as your photographer (again!), and I look forward to seeing you soon. Congratulations on your engagement, and I wish you guys nothing but the best life offers!
