Casey & Jesse’s Castleton Banquet & Conference Center Wedding

Every wedding day comes with its share of challenges for a photographer. Timing, lighting, schedule complications, and much more. Despite the stress a wedding day often involves, it’s always worth it at the end of the day. Especially when we photographers remember what’s important – our couples, their stories, and their memories! No wedding day is perfect, but in my opinion, that’s what makes each wedding unique. Those little imperfect moments end up making the story even more amazing. I had a similar experience while photographing Casey and Jesse’s wedding at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham. Even though there were a few stressful moments, it ended up being the most awesome day. And we had some fun moments too! Also, the incredible backdrops – nestled along a waterbody – that my couple’s wedding venue had to offer only meant that stellar images were guaranteed!

Weddings sure are about the bride and the groom, but for many couples, the day is equally about their loved ones. And, I just cannot disagree with them on this. The support and love of close ones, their excitement, their happiness on seeing the couple exchanging vows, and all that dancing and fun sure do make the wedding day more memorable for the couple as well as everyone else present. So, it might be hard to relax and enjoy the moment when a loved one’s condition is uncertain. When my couple’s grandpa fell a couple of times, leading to an ambulance being called, the bride and groom and their guests did experience some worry and anxiety. But after we all found out that he was doing okay, my couple was able to enjoy their day.

Everyone got ready in a beautiful rented Airbnb a couple of miles away from the ceremony site. It had a super relaxed environment, and everyone was happy. Casey and Jesse were married by a family member at the wedding venue’s gorgeous ceremony location by the lakeside. Photographing my couple at this tranquil spot was a joy! And the pictures turned out ethereal. Another thing that was priceless was the expression on Jesse’s face when he saw his bride for the first time. Both at the first look and when she was walking down the aisle. Both times, I witnessed some raw and genuine emotions that made for perfect wedding images! I also created some romantic portraits of my couple and absolutely loved how comfortable they were with each other despite me being so close to them all the time. Thanks to the engagement session we had done together – and a big thanks to the bunch of bees that made an appearance yet again! Haha…

I had shared my experience about Casey and Jesse’s engagement session earlier, where we had been attacked by a swarm of bees at Alyson’s Orchard and had to run for our lives. It seemed as if the bees wouldn’t leave us alone again! On the wedding day, we had some ‘bee moments’ during the formal portraits. It was so funny! Another highlight of the day was when Casey’s dad sang “Sweet Caroline” in a way that was engaging, fun, and got the crowd excited! Apparently, it’s a family tradition for this to happen. Personal details like this one add so much to a wedding story. And, what a beautiful wedding it was, and my couple’s tribe was so amazing!!! I loved every bit of this wedding and enjoyed photographing Casey and Jesse’s special moments to the hilt.
