Where to begin? I have so much that I want to say that I”m overwhelmed. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude, excitement, and happiness for what I get to do for a living. Admittedly- before every wedding I get nervous. It’s not that I don’t know what to do. Rather it’s because I understand the responsibility that each couple trusts me with. Simply said- weddings are a big freakin’ deal. Even though the wedding day will live on in the hearts of those who attended, it’s the photography, the images that will spark those memories as every year passes. Those otherwise forgotten moments. It’s not my job to re-create the day. It’s my job to tell the day as it happened. Imperfections and all. And yes- those imperfections are just as beautiful and memorable.
If there was ever a wedding where so much sentiment was put into every detail… this is it. Every. Single. Detail. had significant meaning behind it. So much so, that I doubt I’ll be able to fully explain just how much everything means. I love working with couples who put their heart and soul into, their wedding and their marriage. Couples who not only value each other but their families, their heritage, and their family history.
Kerrie and Daniel are living in Washington but chose to return to Kerrie’s hometown for their Pennsylvania Winter Wedding, held on New Year’s Eve. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the new year than with a group of amazing people coming together to celebrate the love of two incredible people.
As mentioned- every piece of this beautiful wedding was thoughtfully planned out, down to the calligraphy on all the stationary. Featured below is their custom designed pre-wedding monogram.
The inside of the ring boxes featured lyrics from the song performed by Kerrie’s Aunt and Uncle during the ceremony.
Below shows the post-wedding monogram, which will also be engraved on the cover of their exquisite wedding album.
The pattern in the bow-ties are from Dan’s Scottish Family tartan. I seriously LOVE how these two incorporated so much family history into their special day!
Daniel proposed to Kerrie at the Inn on Biltmore Estate with a custom designed Saphire and Diamond ring. The band underneath is a custom-made wrap combining the colors of each family’s crest. It was used during the Blessing of the Hands portion of their ceremony.
These hair pieces were custom designed to coordinate with the bouquet of the antique bride cake topper. (Used by Kerrie’s Great-Grandparents in 1920)
So now we take it outside! LOL I was layered up with two pairs of pants, a sweater, another sweater, a coat, scarf, and gloves, and it was hard for me to not shake after being outside for a few minutes! Kerrie was in a sleeveless lace gown, with a beautiful fur wrap, and she braved the miserable cold as if it didn’t bother her at all. (We’re talking below zero with the wind chill! There was one point where we had to let our camera’s “defrost” LOL Brrrr…. it was cold!!! )
Below we start showing just a few images from their First-look and some of their portraits! Kerrie and Daniel needed no prompting! These two are so totally in-love and comfortable with each other. Photographing them was very heartwarming.
Kerrie and Daniel were married in the very same church as her Grandparents and Great-Grandparents.
The Ceremony was an elaborate orchestration of music, a candle lighting ceremony and a grand entrance to the theme of Starwars. (A surprise to Daniel from Kerrie! His favorite movie!) how cool is that?!?!?!
There is so much more that I want to say. (And to show! ) Just know that their wedding was one of the most amazingly beautiful detailed celebrations that I ever had the honor of photographing. I’ll end with this- Kerrie and Daniel…
