Cate’s Senior Portraits | Light and Airy Beaufort Photography

It’s always so much fun to take up work that’s different from the usual. It kind of refreshes your mind and allows you to approach things from a different perspective. I don’t take on a lot of senior sessions these days. Because I primarily focus on wedding photography. The peak of the two seasons (Seniors and Weddings) tends to fall at the same time of year – Summer into Fall. Therefore, I just don’t have the time to accommodate senior sessions in my schedule. But, there is always an exception to be made – which is what I did for Cate. Once I spoke with Cate’s mom, Angela, about what they were looking for, I knew I just had to work with them. And, I’m so happy that I made a good choice! From photographing couples starting their beautiful marital journey to taking photos of this young and smart girl looking forward to a bright future, it was a lovely change for me. Together, we had such a good time during the session and created wonderful senior portraits of Cate. We did this light and airy senior session in the village of Habersham, Beaufort, SC, and got gorgeous images.

Cate is a super sweet young lady from the senior class of 2022. If I could take on more seniors, I’d want them to all be just like her. Cate’s mom, Angela, is also amazing. She was so warm and friendly throughout, and I loved spending time with both of them.

The day of our session was just perfect! The weather was good and the relaxed atmosphere around Habersham was such a boon. We shot all around the incredible Habersham town and were sure to include some elements to bring out that gorgeous southern charm. Like the Spanish moss, and the pastel-colored buildings, and, of course, the marshy areas when the tide was out.

Cate decided to go for one single outfit for her senior portraits session. It was a super cute white romper. She accessorized it with her letterman’s jacket and a tennis racket. I found it to be a great way to bring out her interests through her senior portraits. Above all, I just loved the confidence and the wide and bright smile Cate wore throughout the session. It not only made the images appear livelier but also helped me highlight her personality! We also included Cate’s sweet pup in a few of the photos. The images with her furry friend raised the cuteness quotient of the session and Cate’s senior portraits. Also, I really enjoyed my conversations with this lovely girl with a promising future. I came back totally inspired and enriched!

Cate, you are such a brilliant girl, and I had a blast working with you! Being in your company and photographing you in Beaufort was a pleasure. I really appreciate your effort in putting your look together to make this session count. I know that the past couple of years have not been very exciting for students because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant restrictions. Most of you have had to miss out on all the fun stuff at school, but I hope senior sessions like these will add some sunshine to your academic year. They can be a fantastic way of documenting your milestone in the form of forever photos and help you cherish everything positive this year. I hope our session will inspire you to work hard to achieve your future goals and aspirations. Angela, I want to give a special shout-out to you for trusting me with your daughter’s senior portraits photography, and Cate, I wish you all the best for all your future endeavors. I look forward to documenting many more of your milestones in the future.
