I am a big fan of couples who add their unique touches to their engagement session. Whether it’s their secret spot or the place where they met for the very first time, in the end, engagement sessions are all about celebrating their bond! And honestly, I feel so lucky to be able to capture these sweet and romantic moments between my couple. How they giggle and act goofy or how they kiss and hold hands – I love those authentic moments. That’s really when the magic comes alive. I recently photographed Brittany and Greg. My bride and groom-to-be had their own location in mind, which, of course, added that perfect unique touch to their engagement session!

Even though I say this about all my couples, Brittany and Greg were seriously so amazing. I had such a great time spending the day with these two down-to-earth and just super cool people. During our pre-session meet-up, where I take my couples out for drinks, Brittany and Greg told me that they both had jobs at Abercrombie + Fitch when they were young. But neither did they work at the same store nor did they know this about each other until a few dates. But this just proves to me that love has its own strange ways of bringing people together.
Brittany and Greg met when they both ended up on a recreational volleyball team near Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The two took it slow and became friends first and then started dating a few months later. Although they were initially friends, Greg did admit that he was immediately attracted to Brittany but thought she would be “high maintenance.” However, after he had one conversation with her, he learned that she was the total opposite! They hit it off immediately, and the rest is history!
The couple thought it would be great to have our session at the very place they met! Which was where they used to play volleyball. So after drinks, we headed to the Great Island Common. The location was beautiful, and the fact that this is where they first met made the whole experience even better. Brittany and Greg had no requests except that they just wanted to have fun, and that’s exactly what we did! I loved how these two were just being silly and had fun during the session while I was taking pictures of them the whole time. But there were some serious moments too, where I could see the strong bond these guys have.
Also, we took being silly to a whole new level with the engagement ring detail photos when we found a Hermit crab and a regular crab to “model” the ring for us. However, please note that absolutely no crabs were harmed in the making of these photos! But I gotta say, they were absolutely photogenic crabs!
I consider myself incredibly lucky to be in a profession where I meet people like Brittany and Greg. I am so satisfied with the result of their engagement session. It’s truly inspiring to see the authentic love between these two, which also made it so easy to get these gorgeous photos. Brittany and Greg, thank you for choosing me as your photographer and thank you for sharing your story with me. I had a blast spending time with you guys, and I can’t wait to see all the extraordinary things you have planned for your wedding.
