On August 29, 2025, I had the honor of photographing Morgan and Matthew’s engagement in West Chesterfield, New Hampshire. Tucked in the western part of the state, West Chesterfield offers scenic trails, rolling meadows, and serene backdrops. For couples like Morgan and Matthew, who love wide-open spaces and quiet charm, West Chesterfield was the perfect spot.
This area is known for its landscapes and peaceful atmosphere. Walking paths, woodlands, and hidden clearings create endless opportunities for portraits. What makes it special for engagement photography is its balance of natural beauty and a calm environment. It’s the kind of place where couples can truly relax and feel like themselves.
As soon as we began the session, Morgan and Matthew settled into the rhythm of the day with ease. Morgan wore a vibrant, tropical-inspired dress filled with playful prints and bold pops of color. She paired it with a light denim-style jacket, giving her look a relaxed yet stylish vibe. Matthew’s outfit, a cream corduroy shirt jacket layered over a simple tee, with khaki trousers, brought a classic balance that paired beautifully with the late-summer surroundings.
We started along a dirt pathway bordered by tall grass and wild greenery. The soft, golden tones of the landscape highlighted their connection in a way that felt both natural and effortless. One of the benefits of choosing West Chesterfield for engagement photos is just how much room there is to breathe; couples can wander, laugh, and move at their own pace, free from distraction.
As I photographed them, what struck me was how Morgan and Matthew interacted when unobserved.
They moved easily, sharing glances, slipping into laughter, and holding each other in subtle ways that revealed their bond. In one meadow clearing, Matthew leaned in close to whisper something that made Morgan’s smile light up instantly. These fleeting moments make engagement sessions powerful—not staged poses, but genuine exchanges between two people in love. They happen naturally when a couple feels completely at ease.
That’s exactly what an engagement in West Chesterfield offers—a setting where connection can unfold naturally.
As we explored further, we came across rustic stonework that added depth and texture to their photos. Against the muted tones of the stones, Morgan’s patterned dress stood out vividly, while Matthew’s neutral style grounded the images.
These landmarks added variety to the gallery, creating a mix of wide, scenic shots and more intimate portraits. That balance is one of the reasons I love photographing in West Chesterfield: there’s always a surprise waiting, whether it’s a grove of trees, a quiet field, or a structure that feels like it was built for storytelling.
As the sun lowered, the light softened into the golden tones every photographer hopes for. The fields took on a warm glow, and the late-summer grasses swayed in the breeze as Morgan and Matthew walked hand in hand.
Morgan rested her head on Matthew’s shoulder, their steps unhurried and calm. It was a moment of quiet joy, the kind that reflects not just the excitement of being engaged, but the peace of knowing they’re stepping forward together. Watching them, I was reminded why I’m so excited to photograph couples during this season—it’s about capturing this chapter, right before the wedding day arrives.
Engagement in West Chesterfield isn’t just about the photos—it’s about the experience of wandering trails, walking through fields, and letting the landscape naturally frame your connection. Morgan and Matthew’s August 29th session showed everything I love about photographing in this corner of New Hampshire: open space, rustic details, and an atmosphere that lets couples shine.
If you’re planning your engagement session and are searching for a location that blends peaceful charm with stunning scenery, West Chesterfield is an amazing choice. Whether you’re drawn to open meadows, woodland trails, or rustic stone landmarks, this area offers endless opportunities to create photographs that feel authentic to your story.
If you’re engaged and considering West Chesterfield for your own session, I’d love to help you plan and capture it. Just like Morgan and Matthew’s day, your engagement session can unfold into something natural, joyful, and entirely your own.
