While I might sound like I’m repeating myself, you guys know how much I love finding people (and clients) that match my vibe so seamlessly. And luckily for me, the list of clients I have absolutely adored working with is quite long, and as far as I can see, that list is not going anywhere any time soon. When I met Lainie and Mackenzie for their engagement session at Cathedral Of The Pines, I knew I wanted to photograph their future milestones, and here I am again, narrating their wedding day story.
Lainie and Mackenzie picked the gorgeous Woodbound Inn as their wedding venue, and I’ve gotta say, I can’t imagine these two getting married anywhere else. It was absolutely perfect for their fuss-free wedding. The huge grounds offer a spectacular backdrop for wedding photos, which meant lots of lush green backdrops for Lainie and Mackenzie’s portraits. It was a beautiful day, and since the ceremony was held outdoors by the water, I thought, why not get some of those New Hampshire woods to feature in their wedding day photos. They were both game to move around the venue for the photos, and that’s something I always appreciate about my couples.
The bride and groom were pretty relaxed and chill the entire day! Truly – this was one of the most stress-free wedding days that I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Mackenzie’s sister ended up forgetting her bridesmaid dress all the way back in Maine, which she was really heartbroken about. BUT… with Country Bridals just down the road, she was able to get a new dress in no time. When I say the bride was so laid back and chill, I mean she was so chill that she wasn’t even stressed or upset about the fact that her sister forgot to bring her bridesmaid dress! The different color dresses really made the entire wedding party pop! It ended up being pretty amazing for the photos. And ladies and gentlemen, that’s how you find (or make your own) silver lining!
Lainie and Mackenzie were married by a family friend, which was a really sweet and unique touch to their wedding day. Lainie’s dress was custom-made, and on the inside of her dress was her wedding date and a blue ribbon bow to represent “something blue”. Loved it!
Neither Lainie nor Mackenzie were really into the posed formal photos. And when we did their portraits, Mackenzie’s little niece (adorable!) had them pretending to be different animals. It really made the portraits fun, especially because one of Lainie’s favorite engagement photos was one of them being silly. I really loved how the energy they had at the engagement session was exactly the kind of energy they brought with them to the wedding day. I didn’t even have to pose them too much. It was the candid and goofy moments that really showcased their bond, one of which happened during the cake cutting too! And I am so glad I captured that one.
Lainie and Mackenzie, thank you so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer. It was a treat for me to play my little role on your wedding day. I remember you guys saying that you wanted a “fun and relaxed environment” during your engagement session, and guys, trust me when I tell you that you two were the epitome of fun and relaxed on your wedding day. It was a joy to be around you both and watch your take on posing! Congratulations once again! I wish the two of you a very happy life together.
