Jake And Kat | West Mountain Inn Wedding

I had an absolute blast documenting Jake and Kat’s love once again! And this time it was for their wedding day! Not so long ago, I had the honor of shooting their engagement session, and I had been looking forward to photographing the lovebirds on their wedding day ever since. They were such a joy to work with and I loved getting to learn about them and their love story. Jake and Kat’s West Mountain Inn wedding in Arlington, Vermont, was such a beautiful event. Filled with emotional moments and a night full of dancing, Jake and Kat’s wedding day was one to remember. Here’s a little glimpse into what went down on their big day.

Kat And Jake’s Wedding Day

Kat and Jake tied the knot at the West Mountain Inn. Located on 150 mountainside acres with lush gardens, farm-fresh dining, and breathtaking views of the Battenkill Valley, the Inn was simply wonderful and the ideal venue for their wedding. With its antiques-filled guest rooms and mountain views, the venue oozes romance and charm. Plus, the Inn offers a plethora of activities for guests to enjoy. From hiking and biking to canoeing and fishing, there is something for everyone who wants to go out and connect with nature! The staff at the West Mountain Inn were also very welcoming and hospitable, and they did a great job of making sure that everything ran smoothly.

As ravishing as Kat looked in her bridal dress, she also added something so incredibly unique and personal to her look. The bride’s father passed away in 2020, and her mom gave her a pendant with her father’s photo on it to pin on her bouquet. So while she walked down the aisle, she knew that her father was near her, watching over her. I was so incredibly touched by this and I am glad I could document this special memory for Kat.

Kat wore an enchanting off-shoulder wedding dress and looked absolutely ethereal. She had loose beach-wave curls, and her church-length veil was the perfect element to complete her look. Meanwhile, Jake looked strapping handsome in his suit and tie. The couple chose to have an outdoor first look, surrounded by the stunning fall colors. Their first look was definitely one of my favorite moments from the day. Jake was so emotional when he saw Kat, but one could totally see how excited he was to make Kat his wife.

Jake and Kat had an outdoor wedding ceremony with white chairs placed for guests, and their wedding arch was decorated with flowers that resembled the ones in Kat’s bridal bouquet. Jake and Kat, if you’re reading this, I just want to say that you did an awesome job with your wedding planning. It was spectacular! The weather and lighting was just right for the light and airy wedding photos I love taking. The couple was giggling and laughing as they said their vows, and their kiss at the end had everyone cheering for them.

The couple also brought their adorable dog Garth to the wedding! He was such a good boy, and we got some paww-dorable shots with him. Also, a special shout-out to Jake and Kat’s wedding party, who were so much fun to be around. The real surprise came when I got to know that the groom and most of the groomsmen were also photographers to some degree. The groom himself is a photo enthusiast!

Kat and Jake’s wedding reception took place in the Inn’s famous barn, adding a rustic vibe to their wedding photos. The barn was decorated with twinkling fairy lights, which added a touch of magic to the evening. For their first dance, the couple’s friend (one of the groomsmen) played the guitar and sang a song for them, making their day even more special. Everyone was so full of energy, especially the grandmas, who were one of the first ones to get up on the dance floor! Haha! They were so awesome. The whole wedding day was just perfect, and I hope that Kat and Jake will be able to relive their special day by looking at these photos even years down the line.
