The Bedford Village Inn is an incredibly gorgeous wedding venue with oodles of photo-worthy backgrounds on offer, both indoors and outdoors. I always love going back to this location and creating stunning wedding images for my couples. I’m glad I got yet another chance to go back to the venue when Michelle and Eric chose the Bedford Inn to celebrate their union with their family and friends. It was such a beautiful wedding with lots of emotional as well as fun-filled moments. Everything was so thoughtfully planned and well-executed that besides photographing my lovely couple, I loved taking pictures of all the details.
I love getting to know my couple’s story before I get them to stand in front of my camera. These stories always help me understand their equations better and really help me photograph them better too. Talking about their first date, Michelle and Eric said, “Our first date was at our high school’s football game on a Friday in mid-October. Eric had come back from college for the weekend, and we are from a small town so the game was the place to be! After the game, we ended up watching a Boston Red Sox playoff game at Michelle’s house with her family.” Eric is a Yankees fan, while Michelle is a Red Sox fan; so clearly, it was an interesting start!
The proposal stories are always interesting too, and Michelle and Eric were super happy to share theirs with me. “We were living in Northern California at the time and we took a weekend trip to Napa for Michelle’s birthday (very delayed, thanks to some crazy work schedules!). After a delicious brunch in Calistoga, we headed to Quintessa, a winery in St. Helena, where Eric had scheduled a private tour. The fact that he had selected a winery and scheduled a private tour was a clue that something was up! During the tour, we went to the top of a hill overlooking all of the estate (incredibly picturesque!!) and we were sipping sparkling wine when our tour guide asked if we would like to take some pictures. After getting a few quick pictures, Eric asked our guide if we would be willing to take a few more, and then he dropped to one knee and proposed! Michelle said yes and then we got to spend the rest of the day celebrating at our favorite wineries, eating great food, and calling friends and family on FaceTime!” they told me.
Just like their story, Michelle and Eric’s wedding was beautiful too! And because the wedding had been rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone seemed to be doubly excited for finally being together. Even though the wedding day was hot and humid, everyone barely paid attention to that! They were just busy celebrating and supporting the couple. The weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of my couple and their guests at all. Also, thanks to the engagement session we had already done together, I felt like I was just going back to work with old friends. Michelle and Eric were incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and I loved how that helped their bond shine through.
One of the memorable things about the wedding was that my couple had named the tables after the places they had visited together and adorned them with pictures of their favorite memories from those trips. Another interesting moment was when, in his speech, the father of the bride jokingly teased the groom for being a Yankee fan. That was super fun!
Michelle and Eric, you two are sweethearts! I loved photographing your wonderful wedding at the Bedford Village Inn and want to thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. I wish you both a very happy married life and lots of adventures together!
