As a wedding photographer, I’ve shot in different indoor and outdoor venues over the years. While most of them offer great hospitality and phenomenal photo ops, some will always have my heart! Alyson’s Orchard in Walpole is one such venue, and I’m glad that my couple, Alyssa and Brandon, gave me a chance to shoot there once again. We even did the engagement session at Alyson’s and had so much fun! And clearly, they loved the venue too. While I had the best experience working with them during their engagement session, photographing Alyssa and Brandonโs wedding was like one big party as well. Also, it was such a fun workday for me. Totally felt like I was just reconnecting with old friends.
Alyssa and Brandon are made for each other. They look so cute together, and the way Brandon protects his girl just melts my heart! This is something I witnessed during their engagement shoot and saw again while photographing their wedding. Also, I am a big fan of couples who have good taste in wedding venues, and Alyson’s Orchard is perfect for my style of light and airy photography. However, the only issue that could have been a hiccup (but wasn’t) was the weather.
A day before the wedding, the forecast wasn’t looking good at all. It hinted that it may rain all day long. And this could have definitely derailed our plans of outdoor photography at Alyson’s Orchard. While discussing this with Alyssa, I could sense that she was disappointed, but my lovely bride didnโt let this bring her down. In the end, the forecast changed in our favor! And while we did have some wind to deal with, the rain ended up holding off until after the ceremony. Phew! That was a relief! My couple was happy, and that helped to calm my nerves too.
We got some stunning wedding images of my couple with the mountain and lake views in the background. I also photographed Alyssa and Brandon with the bridesmaids and the groomsmen. They were such a fun gang! The ceremony site was so beautiful that I couldn’t miss taking some wide-angle shots to capture the beauty of this incredible wedding venue in its entirety.
One of my favorite parts of this day was how Alyssa and Brandon chose to not only have the first look but also to exchange their vows privately. These are such intimate moments and meant so much to my couple that I chose to respect their privacy while still getting photos from a distance. I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but I saw tears and laughter, and knew that whatever they were saying would have probably had the same effect on me too.
The guests at Alyssa and Brandon’s wedding were such a fun crowd. They just loved to party! Even the elderly 88-year-old grandparents, Sally and Roy, cut up a rug on the dance floor! The DJ did an anniversary dance, and we all learned that Sally and Roy had been married well over 60 years! (I think it was 63 years!). When they “won” the dance, everybody went crazy cheering. It was a fun moment and set off some more dancing by the guests. It was a joy photographing it all!
Alyssa and Brandon, I adore both of you and enjoyed photographing your beautiful wedding at Alyson’s Orchard. It was a pleasure being around such a warm and welcoming group of people. Thank you so much for trusting me with your wedding photography! I wish you both lots of happiness together.
