Engagement Sessions are fun. They are one of the best ways for a photographer and a couple to get acquainted on a deeper level! That’s exactly what happened at Emily and Chase’s Fall engagement Session at the Audubon in Auburn NH!
When I first chatted with these guys during their consultation- I was instantly a fan. Fellow potty mouths, down-to-earth peeps who are craving an event that totally embraces my “unfussy elegance” tagline. These two are the epitome of the Perfect K. Lenox Couple.
Now you know that I’m not a fan of the word “perfect”. (Besides, Who’s perfect anyway?) And that still holds true. I feel like that word really encompasses a level of expectation that is just unrealistic. But if anyone comes close to perfect… I say it would be these two!
For me… “perfect” means owning who you are. Embracing your inner authentic selves… and the ability to harness who you are, faults and all. Emily and Chase… are as perfect as they come! Fun, Laid-Back… and real.
So why don’t I get to talking more about these guys and their Fall engagement session!
If you haven’t been there… then go! Right now. It’s such a beautiful area that offers so much variety in terms for photos. But aside from just photos… there is so much to offer!
Emily was really looking forward to a fall engagement session, and was hoping to have a field of some sorts! Well… with recommendations of a few colleagues of mine… The Audubon in Auburn checked all the boxes! It’s definitely a place I want to shoot at again!
Let’s Meet the Couple!
We met at the bar Chase works at in October of 2017!
Our first date was at Murphy’s Taproom on a cold, rainy night in October 2017. Emily was running late as always and Chase was sitting there waiting when she arrived. It was the most perfect first date getting to know each other. Making conversation was just easy and the connection was organic.
We knew from very early on that we were soulmates. I don’t recall a specific time when it came to me but it was just one of those “when you know, you know” things.
We got engaged on 4/10/21 in Newport, RI. Chase outdid himself with the proposal. He planned a helicopter ride over Newport and towards the end of it, there was a “will you marry me?” banner placed on some farmland – when I looked over at him he had the ring out and it was just so perfect!
Chase surprised me a few years ago by taking me on a little weekend getaway. He didn’t tell me where we were going. We ended up in North Conway. We stayed at (my now) favorite hotel, the Wentworth, in Jackson, went on a sleigh ride with champagne included and had a nice dinner. Chase and I now make this same trip every year for our anniversary in November!
We enjoy spending time with our dog Luda, playing games, our guilty pleasure – watching (trashy) reality tv lol. We especially love the summer months when we’re able to go boating in Maine.
My best advice would be not to procrastinate. We booked our venue and vendors as quickly as possible to get the big stuff out of the way and I’ve created a to-do list with due dates to help keep us on track throughout the next 8 months. I think it’s most important to have fun and enjoy the process of planning together. After all, we are celebrating our love!
Emily – I’m most looking forward to seeing Chase’s face when I walk down the aisle and starting this new chapter in our lives together. Also, being able to spend and share the day with everyone we love.
Chase – Obviously marrying Emily…but celebrating our love and starting the next and best chapter of our lives. Seeing how beautiful Emily looks!
I’m looking forward to getting to know these guys more over the next year or so!
