Holley & Jonathan’s The Hancock Inn & Fox Tavern Elopement
All my couples are special to me, but then there are some who go an extra mile to make me a part of their celebrations. I can’t express the happiness and satisfaction I feel in serving them and reciprocating their love in my own ways. Since I was unavailable on the day of their actual wedding, I loved doing the same for Holley and Jonathan when they asked me to shoot their elopement at The Hancock Inn & Fox Tavern one week before their actual wedding.
Overwhelmed by their love and commitment to having me take their photos, I decided to surprise them by designing an album, having it shipped to me overnight, and then dropping it off at their wedding venue. I asked the inn owner to give this album to my couple right after they were married. This way, they could see their wedding photos for the first time right after they said their I dos.
The Hancock Inn & Fox Tavern Elopement
Holley and Jonathan met online, and their first date was all about sharing beer and nachos at a local pub. They knew instantly that they were going to be great friends. As their bond grew and they realized they were in love, Jonathan proposed to Holley on a beautiful balcony overlooking Lake Tahoe, and it was magical! Now, they love doing EVERYTHING together! They love to ride bikes at the beach, hike, play with their two pups, and watch scary movies. Jonathan is also a shooting enthusiast and loves WWII aviation, fishing, and woodworking. Holley loves to read and go shopping at flea markets with her friends.
Before the shoot, when I asked my couple to tell me about each other’s quirky habits, they gave me some fascinating answers. Holley said, “Jonathan loves to pour root beer over a glass of ice and chomp on the cubes.” She admitted that while she adores him to bits, she has to leave the room while this happens. On the other hand, Jonathan said, “Holley loves to make baked salmon.” And although he loves her to the ends of the earth, he would rather prefer she bake almost anything but fish. I had already got a glimpse of my couple’s fun personalities with these answers but got to see more of it during our elopement photography session at the Hancock & Foz Tavern. When I asked them about the one piece of advice they’d give to couples planning their wedding, they said, “Enjoy the journey and don’t sweat the small stuff! The only thing that really matters is the love that you share- all the rest is just extra.”
For their elopement photography, they got all glammed up in their wedding attire, and we took some gorgeous photos at the same venue they were going to get married in. While photographing my charming couple, I witnessed their goofy and playful personalities and loved it! They were natural and relaxed in front of the camera and looked amazing together. The lake and the trees with gorgeous white flowers made for some sublime backdrops for the photos.

Holley and Jonathan, it was a pleasure spending time with you two and photographing your special moments. I loved how despite my unavailability on your wedding day, you both managed to squeeze in a pre-wedding shoot with me. I wish you both many more adventures and happiness ahead.
