I absolutely love back yard weddings!! And I love how unscripted and candid they are. And when it comes to photographing weddings- I have learned so much.
I used to put so much pressure on myself to capture what “I” thought was necessary. But over the years… I’ve learned that it’s not about the photographer… it’s about the couple and what they want. So each wedding I now ask myself… “How does the couple want to remember their day?”
Wedding Days can be challenging. Whether it’s a tight timeline, difficult lighting scenarios, or a crappy weather forecast… there is usually something to overcome. But I’ll tell you what… Lisa and Scott’s Back yard Wedding was incredible in EVERY. SINGLE. WAY. (Despite their little weather set back. The forecast: RAIN)
The Rain didn’t even slow this couple down. ๐
You will be surrounded by the ones you love as you marry your best friend. Despite all the little hangups…. it is going to be the best day of your life.
Just like each wedding day has it’s challenging moments… every couple has their own visions and desires about how they want their wedding day to unfold. (And how they want their wedding images to look.)
Lisa and Scott wanted their wedding day to be fun and laid back. To them- everything else is just “stuff”. They want to be able to reflect back on their day and see the happiness and laughter of their closest friends and family. (And I couldn’t agree more!)
So Why don’t I show you the many many candids we captured throughout their incredible day. (with just a few details thrown in there)
They wanted their back yard wedding to be simple and fun. What was most important to them, was spending time with their loved ones celebrating this happy occasion!
Lisa and Scott’s back yard wedding ceremony was so special. They kept it intimate with only a few people in attendance. Aside from the traditional ceremony- Lisa surprised Scott with a release of beautiful white doves.
I still can’t get over just how down to earth Lisa and Scott are. ๐
There was absolutely no stresses and no-fuss! But there was a lot of smiles, laughs and candid moments.
After the back yard ceremony- we headed over to Tick Toc’s for a few drinks before the actual reception started.
I love seeing how these two make each other smile. And I loved to see how happy all their family and friends were to celebrate along side them.
