Katie + Carter
As I stepped up onto the front porch of the Mountain View Grand- I could feel the love and excitement that had arrived before me. Friends and family already there- sitting, chatting and enjoying the breathtaking views that this venue provided. Talking about the weekend plans. The plans that included Katie and Carter’s black tie wedding. Anticipating all the fun that is about to happen.
I immediately spot Katie and run up to give her a hug. I am just so excited for the big day, and at this point… looking forward to meeting the cast of characters who will end up playing a huge role in their wedding day story. There with her was her Mom, Dad, Sister and Aunt Debi, I was welcomed with warm smiles- the introductions have begun. And with each new person I meet- my excitement for Katie and Carter just kept growing.
Being a wedding photographer I have a very strong philosophy. I feel it’s so important to get to know your couples- and their families before the big day. This position offers such intimate access to the very moments that will start the rest of their lives. Moments of joyful tears, last minute jitters, day- of frustrations, and feelings of overwhelming happiness and the unconditional love that they have for each other. All of these emotions come out in different ways on wedding days. It’s my job to be there to capture these fleeting moments. Whether it be Katie taking a step out onto the bridal suite’s balcony… just for a second to really take it in… to slow down and realize… “Wow… this is really happening. I’m getting Married today.” Or to capture Carter and his groomsmen fixing his collar and bow tie just before the family formals. I LOVE capturing these little moments as they happen. No do-overs… just real authentic moments.
Katie and Carter’s day was incredible, to say the least. Beautiful weather, fun bridal party, and loving family. All together to celebrate this once in a lifetime event. These two hold a special place in my heart. Katie was beyond beautiful…. and so real. My kinda gal. And Carter… carter and his groomsmen were so much fun. (I won’t repeat the “name” of one awesome and fun groomsmen here…. but I’m sure Carter and the gents knows who I’m referring too haha )
So without further ado… take a quick glimpse into their black-tie, Mountain View Grand wedding! (And if you’re interested in their Portsmouth Engagement session view that HERE)
