I’m loving that many of my couples are choosing to have more intimate events. Which is exactly what Kelly and Sean decided to do!!

Kelly and Sean had a beautiful, simple, and Elegant Backyard wedding. I left this wedding feeling so inspired. To see a couple surrounded by so much love. I witnessed siblings who are truly there for each other. To see parents, not just hug but squeeze their adult children, several times throughout the day. To feel genuine excitement. I was inspired. This is why I document weddings. And I couldn’t have been more honored to have been a part of their story.

As I reflect back on their engagement session, I asked Sean how he proposed. He wrote the story down, for me to include in the blog post… and below follows a very small excerpt, of him explaining how he felt the moment she said yes.

“It is hard to imagine a happier moment than this in my life. But with Kelly at my side, I’m sure this is just the first of many.“

When I read that… my heart just melted. And the best part about the story is this: It’s just the beginning. This is their first chapter. Kelly and Sean’s fairytale doesn’t end here. It begins. They will continue to love each other more with each passing day.

See, that’s the romantic part. It’s not the wedding. (Although this was a very beautiful Simple and Elegant backyard wedding!), It’s the fact they couldn’t wait any longer to get married. It’s the fact that they love each other more today than they did yesterday. It’s the simple fact that they found each other, out of the sea of souls out there. They have each other. Forever.

Now, this may not have been their original plan, but they totally embraced 2020’s “new normal” and had their sweet celebration. While, there were quite a few loved ones who couldn’t make it, for the obvious reasons, they were there in spirit. (And via a live-stream!)

Kelly and Sean are still looking forward to celebrating with their entire guest list next year as they celebrate with a full party at the Bedford Village Inn! But for now, let’s take a peek at their special day!
