Fall weddings in New England are definitely something special! The colors are so beautiful, and they translate so well into the wedding photographs too. And just like me, my couple Taylor and Marcel turned out to be big fans of fall weddings and planned theirs around the fall vibes. These two had one of the most beautiful weddings at the Wildcat Mountain in October, and they also have a very sweet love story that came before the wedding. Besides their wedding happening during the NH White Mountains Peak Foliage (gorgeousness all around!), one of the other memorable things for me from this wedding and one of the reasons why I connected with my bride on a whole other level is that while Taylor is a school teacher right now, she, too, ultimately wants to be a wedding photographer. I had photographed Taylor and Marcel’s engagement before, so meeting them again for the wedding was just like a reunion for me. So glad I met these two!

Meet Taylor & Marcel

When I say these guys are meant to be together, I mean it. The way they met and how their story developed from there to the two of them finally tying the knot is so romantic and sweet. “Marcel and I met working at a summer camp, but we had very little interaction until the end of the summer. So it wasn’t until we started having staff parties after work when I really got to know him. One night, we were at a party and I was having a very bad night. I needed some space, so I went to sit in my car to be alone. Marcel followed me out to my car to make sure that I wasn’t going to drive. He sat with me in my car and listened for hours as I told him all of the crap I was going through. Then he slept in the back of my car all night just to make sure that I was okay,” she told me, adding, “At this point, he didn’t really know me. And we weren’t friends. He had no reason to be so kind to me, but he was. And I remember thinking, “This is someone I need to have in my life.” These two seriously are just so in love. You can tell that by the way they look at each other, and the way they laugh together. It’s genuinely beautiful.

Taylor & Marcel’s Fall Wedding At Wildcat Mountain

Taylor and Marcel had a small, intimate wedding. They live in Texas, but like I said, the couple really planned and actually did embrace the New England fall at their wedding! Their vision was to have a cozy outdoor reception with a bonfire, lawn games, and all the fall snacks you can think of! Taylor told me, “We are pretty laid-back people, so that’s the kind of atmosphere we want to create for our wedding.”

As gorgeous as the location and the wedding were, the fog was intense (and so were the cold temps) on top of the mountain. But I must say, it was an awesome experience. In that moment, I just wanted to take in and photograph everything. After the ceremony, we ended up doing all the family photos at the base of the mountain. The couple was married by Marcel’s sister-in-law Olivia, and she did a wonderful job! Marcel’s brother surprised the couple with a commissioned custom piece of music, where each instrument in the piece had a meaning and represented a specific person and/or emotion.

Taylor and Marcel, congratulations to both of you for starting this amazing new chapter in your lives. And thank you so much for having me photograph your special day.
