Katie & Jake’s Intimate New Hampshire Wedding

Every time I see my couples get creative and (literally) crafty to personalize their weddings to a whole new level, I feel so proud of them. And when their loved ones take it upon themselves to let their skills and talents be a symbol of their love and support for the couple at the wedding, it’s not pride, but respect and wonder that takes over my heart! I had this memorable experience at Katie and Jake’s intimate wedding in Concord, New Hampshire, when I got to know that Judy, who’s a close friend of Katie’s mom, not only did the florals with the help of the bride and her family but also acted as the wedding coordinator as a favor. And Judy did a fabulous job! I totally signed up for her fan club.

I had photographed Katie and Jake’s Engagement Session at Alyson’s Orchard, so going back to photographing them for their wedding was like meeting old friends. My couple kept things intimate and special by getting married at a private residence in Concord. It was a wonderful, low-key celebration that perfectly aligned with my couple and my brand, which embraces “unfussy elegance”.

With a subtle blend of elegance and rustic vibes, Katie and Jake’s wedding was all about sweet romance and family. There was plenty of open space, so I got all the natural light I needed to create those light and airy photographs that my couple (and, of course, I) love. The wooden fencing, the fairy lights, and the rest of the tastefully selected centerpieces and tableware perfectly aligned with the kind of wedding my couple had planned.

Man, I was so impressed with how amazing the decor was. And honestly, had I not been told, I would have never guessed that the floral arrangements were not done by a professional. I said it before, and I will say it again, Judy seriously did a top-notch job! The flowers had been hand-picked from local floral shops, and they were gorgeous! With someone like Judy on your team, how can you not be relaxed and stress-free on your wedding day? And that was probably one of the reasons why Katie and Jake were able to have so much fun at their wedding too.

From my couple’s adorable first look to the crazy dancing at the reception, I had so much fun capturing all those special moments. Taking Katie and Jake’s couples portraits took me back to the time we spent at Alyson’s Orchard. I love the chemistry they have and just how incredibly fun they are.
