I had the absolute pleasure to document Mary and Chadโs love once again! And this time it was for their wedding day! Not so long ago, I had the honor of shooting their engagement session, and I must say that these two lovebirds are all about having fun and living life to the fullest. When Mary and Chad contacted me to photograph their wedding at in Putney, I knew it would be a special day! Their family property is such an amazing location for a wedding and is full of rustic charm. Since Maryโs parents own the property, it was the perfect place for Mary and Chad to have their Vermont backyard wedding! The grounds were unreal, and with sprawling fields and picturesque gardens, they were ideal for outdoor wedding photos. A beautiful location for an equally beautiful couple!ย
Mary And Chadโs Love Story
Since every love story is unique, I love listening to my couples talk about their journey together. It really helps me discover their personalities and what to capture through my photos. Mary and Chad have a wholesome โwhen love comes knocking on your door, you open itโ kinda love, as these two lovebirds literally met at Maryโs family home and are crazy about each other. As they should be.
Chad was Mary’s family’s โgarbage manโ, and during the summer months, she would hang out by the pool just to have the chance to talk to him! You know what they say, right? Donโt be scared to shoot your shot! After hanging out with Chad for a while, they began datingโฆ and the rest is history! Before switching jobs, Mary was the ABC news anchor for Western Mass and is now the ABC news anchor in Albany. And Chad now owns the Waste Management Company in Putney that has been in his family for three generations!ย
Mary And Chadโs Vermont Backyard Wedding
Since I was already familiar with Mary and Chad, I knew exactly what to capture on their wedding day – the simplicity of their love. And it all began by photographing the heartwarming getting-ready moments at the venue. The bride looked ethereal! Mary donned an exquisite lace wedding dress that trailed behind her, and her mom and bridesmaids helped her look her best for the big day, adjusting her dress and adding the final touches to her hair and makeup.ย
Mary’s father stood by the door and couldn’t help but get emotional as he watched his daughter getting ready for her wedding. He gave his little girl a warm smile, knowing that this was the start of a new chapter in her life. Mary also shared a sweet moment with one of the adorable flower girls, who wore an adorable flower tiara. The candids from the getting ready session were just perfect.
I had a great time photographing Mary and her bridal party before the ceremony. The girls were all dressed in matching blue outfits and looked stunning. Mary’s parents and the family kids were also there, and they were all so supportive and excited. I especially loved taking pictures of Chad and his groomsmen. They looked dapper in their suits and were so much fun to photograph.
As the wedding bells rang, it was time to get married! Simple and elegant, Mary and Chad had a wonderful country outdoor wedding. As Mary walked down the aisle with her father, Chad, who was waiting at the altar for his bride, was smiling from ear to ear. No matter how many times I witness this moment, it will always manage to bring a smile to my face.
The trees at the venue cast a magical spell, adding to the aesthetics of their wedding ceremony. The wedding arch was decorated with flowers matching Maryโs bridal bouquet, which were done by a talented family friend and Maryโs uncle officiated the ceremony! Despite being a backyard wedding, it had the perfect combinations of โclassyโ and โcountryโ.
After saying โI doโ, Mary and Chad shared a passionate kiss and walked up the aisle as husband and wife! The newlyweds were so relaxed throughout the wedding. I really love it when my couples genuinely get to enjoy their wedding day! We walked through the private property, and with lush green fields and blooming sunflowers, there were plenty of spots for taking more wedding pictures.
For their reception, Mary and Chad had a tented dinner area where they did all the speeches, and there were wooden tables and chairs placed for the guests. The couple took their wedding favors up a notch and gave lottery tickets to everyone! The tickets were placed on each plate in a pretty paper envelope that said – โLuck In Loveโ! Mary and Chad, you both killed it with the planning, I absolutely loved this idea!
With a love for all things country, Mary and Chad arranged for a live country band in a homespun barn for the evening. After wrapping up with all the emotional speeches, it was time to โBoot Scootin Boogieโ! The decor within the barn was so simple yet classy, with lights hanging from the ceiling and creating a warm glow. Their cake was a two-tier design with cute bride and groom figurines on the top tier. After cutting the cake, the couple had a sweet first dance and smiled at each other, knowing that they’ll be together forever. Everyone joined them on the dancefloor to sing and dance the night away.
