Fall is one of my most favorite times of year to shoot engagements. There’s just something about the crisp air and stunning backdrops that makes everything feel more romantic. For Kristi and Matt’s engagement session, we drove out to Groton, MA, and found the most perfect locations with picturesque backdrops. The season’s vibrant colors just added so much charm to the engagement photos. Kristi and Matt are such a sweet couple, and the best part of their session was when their 4-month-old son, Levi, joined in on the fun. He was such a happy baby, and he made the session even more special.
Kristi And Matt’s Love Story
Kristi and Matt, like most couples today, met virtually. They said, “It was around January 2021 when we met on Bumble. We were almost a year into the pandemic, and we both decided to put ourselves back out there into the dating world. And we immediately hit it off when we first started talking. It turns out we were both from towns south of Boston and liked many of the same places, Team South Shore for Life.”
Recollecting their special first date, Kristi said, “Our first date was on January 17, 2021, at Abe & Louie’s in Boston. Matt was clearly trying to impress me.” Their first date was also when Matt knew right away that Kristi was ‘the one’ for him. He gushed as he recalled that he wanted to see her again asap, “By the time we were in Miami, I knew I could and would go anywhere as long as it was with her.”
The Proposal
Kristi and Matt got engaged on December 18, 2021. Matt was ecstatic as he described the proposal, “I knew I wanted to propose before Christmas and New Year’s Eve, so Saturday, December 18, seemed like the perfect date. I had thought of proposing at the beach with sticks spelling out ‘Marry Me’, but it was not good weather. Kristi is hard to surprise, so I said I could watch Brewster (our dog) while she was out with her friends. So, when she was back, I kept the lights turned off. The staircase leading to the living room was lit with tea lights and covered in rose petals. At the top of the stairs to the left were gold balloons that said ‘Marry Me’. Playing in the background was Jake Owen’s ‘Made For You’ and standing just past the stairs was the soon-to-be the luckiest guy in the world who told her how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and dropped to one knee.” Definitely one of the most romantic proposal stories I’ve heard till date! A virtual pat on the back for Matt; he did good!
Engagement Session Photography In Groton
Kristi and Matt had the perfect fall engagement session in Groton. The light was perfect, and the fall scenery was breathtaking. We wandered around the vast open space, taking advantage of every picturesque backdrop the location had to offer. I had a great time photographing my couples’ love while being surrounded by the beauty of the season.
Their romantic engagement session got even more amazing when their son joined the photo shoot! It was my absolute joy to photograph the three of them together. They were a sweet little bunch, and it felt like the engagement session would have been incomplete had the couple not brought their little one with them. Plus, Levi was a phenomenal model!
Kristi and Matt were so relaxed and also just so excited about their upcoming wedding. When I asked them what they were looking most forward to the wedding, they said, “Just celebrating with all of our friends and family.” It was such a pleasure to capture their love for each other and, of course, meet Levi – he is just too cute for words!
