I couldn’t be more excited to share Caitlin and Kyle’s Light and Airy Engagement Session in Hancock NH! Being from Philadelphia, they were excited to have their session at a beautiful location, such as the Quaint Village of Hancock, NH!
Whenever I meet a couple for the first time {in person}, it’s usually at their Engagement Session. So this is such a special time, not only for the couple but for me as well.
To start, we all get to just hang out for a while, relax, enjoy some adult beverages. This time is so nice as it allows all of us to get acquainted. This is how I lay the foundation for a fun, and successful engagement session!
With every session, I encourage couples to let go of expectations and to just “live in the moment“. The images we make together will be special and unique to them. As a photographer, I’m not looking for perfection. (Besides, who’s perfect anyway?!) Rather, I’m looking for the couple to enjoy the experience, while I capture authentic and real interactions between them. (Whether they are sarcastic, quiet, funny, quirky, etc) I want each session to reflect who they are as a couple.

That being said, I do have to say that Caitlin and Kyle’s Light and Airy Engagement session was as close to perfect as it could get!!
These two have solid chemistry and a light-hearted flirtiness about them. I just loved how Kyle would “nibble” at Caitlin’s Nose. (Which would get Caitlin bursting into laughter just about every time)

How did you guys meet?
We met through mutual friends while at Drexel University in our sophomore year! We went out with our friends to a well-known bar in the area and hit it off right away! I immediately had a giant crush on Kyle, and against the advice of our friends, we left the first bar and went across the street to another one. Kyle didn’t have any cash and I was cold, so I bought him a drink so that I could wear his Vineyard Vines pullover. (Kyle never saw that pullover again….)
Tell us about your First Date!
Our first date was to an AMAZING BBQ restaurant in University City Philadelphia called Baby Blue”s. It wasn’t that interesting of a date because we had already been really good friends for over a year at that point!
How did Kyle Propose?
After scheming with Cait”s sister for what felt like FOREVER, I proposed to Cait in the North End of Boston. It was a cold, windy winter evening, and we were with her whole family. We were “on the way to dinner,” when we decided to take a stroll through Christopher Columbus park. I had Cait”s sister Bridget get her phone out to “check directions” (have her camera ready!), and under the beautiful blue Christmas lights by the water, I got down on one knee. Spoiler alert: she said yes!
What sort of things do you do for fun? (Together)
We love to cook meals together, we love formula 1 and watching football, we like to take advantage of the amazing food scene in Philadelphia. We also love to snuggle our adorable rescue cat, Watson 🙂 We have also recently started solving murder mystery puzzles!
How about some individual hobbies?
Kyle is an avid race car driver – he”s driven tracks such as Watkins Glen International, Virginia International Raceway, and Pocono Raceway. He is (unfortunately for him) an avid Eagles fan! Cait loves a good book and loves trying all of Cody Rigsby”s different rides on our Peloton! She is (thankfully) a Patriots fan, and has recently taken up yoga and meditation.
Funny Quirks and Habits!! (That you may find adorable or annoying) in your finance!?
Cait”s quirks: -I love how cold her little nose gets 🙂 – I love her red hair – I lover her intellect (when it”s working in my favor!) – Her obsession with true crime.
Kyle”s quirks: – I love how excited Kyle gets when he can brag about a new record he”s set on the Peloton – but I don”t love it when he tries to hug me when he”s still all sweaty from his ride! – his backseat typing – I appreciate that Kyle calls me on my BS but is also always on my side #teammatesforlife – I love how nerdy Kyle is about cars, even if its a little boring sometimes
How are the Wedding plans coming along?
I think we”re in pretty good shape, all things considered! Everything within our control is going well – we love our photographer ;), our venue, our DJ, and our cake design! We are just hoping that come next May, COVID will be under control.
As a couple who is currently planning a wedding, What advice to you have for other couples?
The best advice that we can give is to always approach things as a team. It”s okay to disagree and have different tastes, but at the end of the day, that”s your teammate for life and you”ve got to stick together to win.
Describe your wedding visions.
We are hoping for a timeless and elegant day. We are sticking to greens, ivories, and light pinks and our ceremony is very simple. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, so we want to take advantage of that. We love the classic New England vibe, and just want everyone to have a good time! We appreciate great food and drinks, and we hope to provide an awesome experience for our guests.
What do you both do for a living?
Cait is a Registered Nurse specializing in Ortho and Trauma Kyle works for a boutique institutional investment management company and is a Level 3 Candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
