I’m not a good writer. This I know. I can’t spell, I haven’t the slightest clue about grammar and don’t even get me started on my poor punctuation! I write how I speak… but more importantly, I write from the heart. Haha, Though I’m not a good writer, what I am good at is knowing when I have a good thing going on. And that good thing is meeting couples like Liz and Scott. This past year a light bulb really went off for me. Please, let me explain.
Just recently my oldest son asked me a question. That question was. “Mom- if you won a million dollars- would you quit your job?” My answer, “Nope- I wouldn’t even consider it!”
You see- we photographers don’t just “take pictures”. We use the gift that God gave us to capture moments. Moments that our couples will forever look back on. Sometimes these moments aren’t perfect- but they are authentic. We weren’t born to be perfect- we were born to be authentic. Authenticity means genuine smiles, belly laughs joyful tears. It’s capturing the goofy moments that happen when you think no one is looking. With Liz and Scott- it’s capturing the love of two total opposites and their youngins’ covered in Momma’s Lipstick! haha, I seriously can’t wait for their wedding day!
Our session started out enjoying a glass of wine and chatting all about their wedding day plans! I love Liz’s visions that she has for her day! And I LOVE that Liz and Scott make each other laugh- and smile genuinely. Their fall engagement session took place right at their home in Bennington. Which offered such a beautiful backdrop- and of course the most beautiful thing of all… their family.
Liz and Scott have been together for quite some time, I actually took their pictures a while back- back before the kiddos were even a spark in their eyes. They were just as cute then as they are now. Below you will see just how amazing these two are together. And yep! You will get to see a few pictures of the lipstick covered, utterly cute kiddos too.

We met through my best friend Shelley who happens to be Scott’s sister-in-law! One night she insisted I come over and meet him 🙂

Well, that’s a funny question we actually didn’t go on our real first date which was dinner and drinks until months after meeting we were doing the “let us just hang out” thing!! 😉 Lol

He took me away for the weekend and proposed in our hotel room just the two of us… He was so sweet!!

Honestly, either of us has no idea!! We are completely different… a serious case of opposites attract and for some reason it works! He likes to hunt and essential oils are my jam, I’m determined to replace everything with them

I tend to wait until every piece of clothing is dirty in the house until I do laundry, then I do it all and let it sit in baskets. Scott regularly loses his shit and whips the laundry across the house. Scott likes to leave his work stuff all over and doesn’t see an issue, me, on the other hand, I see a large problem when a circular saw is sitting on the table!

What is most important to me is that people have fun at my wedding. The look I’m going for is like vintage rustic. I love the old school looks!
