When a global pandemic puts a halt on the wedding of your dreams, you embrace the storm and have a beautiful backyard Micro wedding within state guidelines!
I’m seriously at a loss for words. I’ve been sitting here at my computer all day trying to come up with a clever opening statement about Julie and Mackenzie, their beautiful micro wedding, and their amazing families. Though, the truth is…. All I’m doing is drawing a blank. There is so much that I want to say… but I just can’t find the words that would give this any justice.
For starters…. I want to scream from the rooftops about how incredibly happy I am for these guys! Since March, it’s been one disappointment after another. While trying to navigate around the ever changing government regulations, these two were starting to come with terms that their magical day just wasn’t going to happen. ( This year, anyway). And let me tell you… it was devastating for everyone. Myself included.
Guys… I get so totally, and 110% invested in my couples. Their happiness is my happiness. Their tears are my tears. When they hurt, I hurt right. I’m in this with them. Why? Because this isn’t only a job to me. These couples… especially the ones that let me in… are like family. They become friends. And there is one thing I never do… is let a friend down.
Though… when your facing a global pandemic… everyone’s hands are tied. So I was hurting… sad that there wasn’t anything I could to help. The only thing I could do was listen, AND recommend an incredible wedding planner. Jennifer from Memorable Events! LOL
And let me tell you…. Mackenzie and Julie embraced the situation. They turned this shitty scenario around and ended up having one of the most beautiful micro weddings that I ever had the honor of photographing. Sure… their wedding wasn’t anything like the original plan… it was better!
Of course- they missed all their loved ones, who legally couldn’t attend, but everyone was there in spirit, sending lots of love and well wishes. But do you want to know the piece that made this wedding so amazing? It was the gratitude, appreciation, love and happiness that Mackenzie and Julie have. Despite all the hoops they had to hop through, and the hurdles that were required to jump over… they pulled off one Freakin’ Amazing Micro Wedding!!!
These two make one hell of a team. You may remember these two from when we did their Engagement Session... Almost, one year to the date of their wedding!
Julie is on her way to being a Physician’s Assistant, while Mackenzie is a practicing Pharmacist. These two completely understand the craziness that is happening in the world right now, as they are working on the front lines. Which is what makes their wedding favors… A little ironic. Don’t you think? (Okay.. that’s a little Alanis Morissette joke thrown in there)
Julie is one of the most beautiful people I know. Not only because of her absolutely STUNNING outward appearance… but she is genuinely the sweetest person with a heart of gold. (She also has a potty mouth at times too…which makes me love her even more! haha). And the same with Mackenzie… these two are just two amazing humans. And getting to know them over the least year and a half has been a gift.
So why don’t I get to the photos!! LOL Mackenzie and Julie both got ready at the comfort of their own home, who they share with a few other members of the family! (So yes… this means that a majority of those in attendance all reside in the same home. Making this Beautiful backyard Micro wedding government compliant!)
Without further chatting from me… enjoy the photos!!
The Ceremony site was beautifully decorated up with an arbor, benches and beautiful flowers. And… it overlooked the private pond that is located right on their property.
Jennifer Matthews and her team from Memorable Events, were on hand to help execute the day in full! There from beginning to end- they helped everything run smooth!
