I had the pleasure of working with Olivia! A senior with Monadnocks Senior Class! I was so excited to have been her choice as a Swanzey Senior Portrait photographer…. especially with all the talented choices there are!
Olivia and I had so much fun! We started our session in Brattleboro VT. Brattleboro has so many amazing nooks and crannies that offer some pretty amazing backdrops for fresh senior portraits!
We spent a good three hours together! You can imagine that during that amount of time- some pretty awesome conversation was had! I learned even more about Olivia’s future plans and just a little more about her as a person! One thing that impressed me was Oliva is an artist!! One of her dreams is to move to New York City (even if only for a year) to sell her art and see where it goes. She has always wanted to live in the city… for a little bit, but sees herself eventually coming back to New Hampshire because she loves it here! However- she does love to travel… so possibly that is in her future too!!
Olivia isn’t quite sure if heading off to college is definite yet, however after talking to Olivia- I’m gathering that she is very interested in art. Is there a future at an Art Institute somewhere? Possibly! She enjoys drawing realistic portraits, as well as painting abstract paintings that provoke an emotion within the viewer.
When I asked Olivia what some of her accomplishments were… ones that she is most proud of… she answered.
“I am proud of the person I am becoming. I lost my way a couple years ago and it has been a heck of a battle trying to get myself back on track. I have persevered, though, and now I am closer and closer to just letting go and being myself. IDK lol I am also proud of my art, I will always be proud of that. I am also proud of the fact that all throughout high school I never fell into peer pressure to do something that everyone else was doing. I stuck to my values, it wasn’t easy, but I did it.”
I don’t know about you…. but that right there speaks volumes. One of my favorite quotes is this…” Nobody stands taller than those willing to stand corrected.” ~ William Saphire. I truly admire people who can learn from their mistakes and grow into a better person. Some of Olivia’s favorite quotes are…
