A barn sitting atop a glorious hill with a breathtaking 360-degree view of beautiful peaks, sparkling lakes, and a pond is what dream locations are made of! When Tiffany and Tyler decided to host their wedding at the sublime The Barn at Top of The World in Derby and chose me as their photographer, I was on top of the world, quite literally! Over the years, I’ve photographed weddings at some of the most amazing and gorgeous locations, but this magnificent family-owned property was a venue extraordinaire. The tranquil and serene sight of the hills with lush greenery, vast skyline, and one of the most romantic sunsets was a delight for me to shoot at as a photographer. Photographing my sweet couple in the lap of nature was an experience to remember for me. And thanks to the natural surroundings and strikingly beautiful backgrounds, I got some gorgeous images from the wedding.

The Barn at Top of The World Wedding Photography

I had photographed Tiffany and Tyler’s engagement session earlier, so going back to do their wedding photography felt like a get-together with old friends. Tiffany and Tyler had an amazing wedding, and everyone was down to party! As a photographer, I never had a single dull moment when it came to looking for scenes and spots for my camera.

The wedding venue, The Barn at Top of The World, is owned by Tiffany’s family and was originally built in 1900. In 2016, my bride’s family got a chance to disassemble this gorgeous barn that’s full of history, and in 2017, they brought it back to life at the top of their 357-acre estate. The barn offers spectacular views of Lake Memphremagog, Jay Peak, Owls Head in Canada, Lake Salem, Willoughby Gap, and Derby pond. The venue looks ethereal and is just perfect for images that last a lifetime!

For the wedding, my bride had decided on a decor that had a boho rustic feel to it. There were also lots of gold details that perfectly blended with the wedding theme. While Tiffany and Tyler’s wedding had lovely mountain vibes and was an elegant affair, it was also one of the most laid-back weddings I’ve ever photographed. This wedding was the epitome of my tagline – “unfussy elegance”.

One of the day’s highlights was when Tiffany’s grandmother, who is 94 years young, gave a blessing to the couple. When she ended it with “God Bless America,” the entire crowd broke into loud cheering. It actually gave me goosebumps! An emotional moment from the wedding that really stood out for me was when Tiffany did the first look for her dad. It was so nice to see genuine and authentic tears of happiness. Both from Tiffany and her father. Another beautiful moment of the day was when Tiffany surprised her mom while she was getting ready. My bride had sewn a little piece of her mom’s wedding dress into hers. When she showed it to her mom, they both cried. Gosh! It was such a heart-melting moment that I couldn’t keep my eyes from getting moist.

This beautiful wedding was a mix of both emotional and fun moments. I feel honored to have got the opportunity to capture them all on my camera, and I hope my couple gets to cherish their special day forever through the images I created!
