Man O’ Man… where to begin? Well- we started the session in classic K. Lenox fashion… with DRINKS! We met at Tick Tocks in Honesdale PA. Which, is still one of my favorite places to get a drink when I head back home.
Lisa and I have known each other for quite a while. (Think back to our high school days! ) So it was extra special catching up with her! And when she reached out asking me to photograph her wedding- I was stoked!! (Like SO STOKED!!)
As we were enjoying our beverages, I got to hear all the updated wedding plans! Now I don’t want to give away any secrets… but let me just say… It’s going to be freakin’ AWESOME!
Lisa + Scott
These two are just freakin’ cool. Down-to-earth. Funny, and best of all- Real. You will get to see some engagement pictures here- and they included some personal and very meaningful touches.
One was the 1957 Chevy. Scott’s late father collected antique cars, so including one in the session was a very authentic and beautiful way to include the memory of such an important person. Additionally- Lisa also wore her Grandmothers’ necklace and earrings- which went perfectly with the look they were going for!
We started out with these two bringing out their casual selves, and we ended with some dressier images that just tied everything together. Not only is this one of my most favorite sessions, but it was one of the most fun too!
Lisa and Scott will be getting married on September 14th in Prompton! And I simply can’t wait!!!
Side note-
On a side note- It’s always so hard for me to choose photos to share on the blog post! There are so many ones that show the fun and emotion that is captured during a session (and/or wedding). It was especially true for Lisa and Scott’s 1957 Chevy Truck Engagement Session. There were so many fun ones to choose from. I very rarely choose ones that are ‘perfect’. I want to show real. Regardless- I hope you enjoy the ones I did choose to share!
How did you guys meet?
We met at a restaurant I worked out per diem. It was only a couple of miles from my house. I had worked my shift and sat down at the bar to relax for one drink. Scott was sitting across the bar.
Tell us about your first date!
Our first date we went for a long drive, traveling from Pennsylvania into New York. We stopped at the Rough Cut and got a bite to eat. It was a beautiful late fall day we rode on a long and winding country road. We had the windows down and we laughed, talked and stopped at the Welsh Cabin and had a drink. I hoped From that day on we would continue to always be together!
Tell us about the Proposal!
Scott: I tried very hard to throw her off. She didn’t make it easy. Lisa was very loving and beautiful that Christmas Eve night and I was trying to make her think that there was something wrong. But the truth was, I just wanted to prove to Lisa that she was always the one! Lucky for me, that it didn’t backfire!
Lisa: Scott and his friend helped me move into his home on Christmas Eve. I finished unpacking and got ready to go to Scott’s mom’s house for dinner. Scott had been acting a little cagey, I was worried he was upset about something. (I tried to hug him and he wouldn’t let me because he was hiding the ring box. )
Right before we went to his family dinner he slipped to one knee in front of the Christmas tree and plopped the question. I was surprised and thrilled. I said yes almost before he asked!
What do you guys do for fun? (Both together and as individuals?)
Scott and I are both devoted parents. We each have a son, Scott’s son Remington is 6. My son Cody is 16, we primarily spend as much free time with them as we can.
Together one of our favorite past times is to take long rides and listen to music. Any backcountry road is the perfect setting for a date. Dinner dates alone are another of our past time’s and occasionally with friends but at the end of the day going home together is the perfect ending to whatever we do!
How are the wedding plans coming along? What are your wedding day visions
I can’t wait for our day and the plans are coming together! (Although I’m taking a break for now because I was stressing myself out.) I envision the day as magical and a great time. It will be simple, outdoorsy and elegant.
As a couple who is currently actively planning your wedding- can you offer any advice to other couples? What would be your biggest piece of advice?
Our advice is to take a break. Especially if your feeling overwhelmed and stressed.
What do you both do for a living?
Scott inherited his dad’s business, so he runs a salvage yard. I am a case manager. I assist clients and their families overcome barriers to become self-sufficient.
