The question is… where do I begin! Emily and Jim are so totally kick ass awesome! Our NH Engagement session started like most do… with drinks! HAHA, Emily and I opened a bottle of fine wine…. (well.. she and I are two peas in a pod… and “fine wine” to us is.. well WINE! ha ) And Jim enjoyed a few craft beers…
One tip for a successful NH engagement session is to let go of all expectations. Each session with every couple is different. My first tip is to focus on each other and have fun. Emily and Jim did fantastically! These two are just so much fun, and because of this… we were able to create images that truly showcased them as a couple!
From there- we took off to our first location. This place is AWESOME (just like them). We had their fur babies with us and we were able to include them in some shots! Seeing Emily and Jim interact both with each other and with their “kiddos”… was so sweet.
Emily and Jim will be married this coming October, and I couldn’t be more excited!! But for now… lets hear from the couple! Take a peek at their answers to questions below! (Some of the answers are hilarious! I found myself chuckling as I was reading through them) Then head on to see some of the images made from their session!

We met at a bar, a dive bar to be exact. I was there with friends, then Jim came in with his basketball buddies. At some point, we made our way to another bar (even more “divey” – it was literally underground and the band was barefoot! ). I offered Jim a ride home because he was drunk and it seemed both my friends and his left already. Jim says that was on purpose 🙂

We went to Jim’s friends birthday party. It was a little awkward for me because I didn’t know anyone, but we did have a good time!

We hiked Mt. Monadnock the day before a “mystery vacation” that Jim had planned. Of course, everyone thought he was going to propose on the vacation, which was what he wanted! It was a distraction. So we hiked the mountain in the middle of the day in July and at the top, he proposed! Our friends even got it on video!

Emily – I love to be outside working with animals, so you can either find me working with my horse or helping with dog agility classes. On rainy days I will find new crafts to do or make jewelry. Jim – For fun, I will hike or go mountain biking, take the dogs for walks somewhere new. In the winter I want to be snowmobiling or hiking.

Jim has this habit of leaving his laundry right next to the laundry basket… rather than in it! The struggle is real! The same goes for dirty dishes… in the sink even if the dishwasher is empty… but I still love him 🙂 Emily is perfect. (Kris here…. laughing! )

We are well on our way! Most big things are set and now we have to focus on details. We want it to be a great party with our friends and family. Fun is the most important part of the day. We want people to look back and remember what a great time they had at our wedding.

Emily is doing most of the active planning. Jim helps with details (when they matter to him). Advice? I think it helps to talk about what is important to each other and allow the other party to make decisions about things you don’t necessarily care about. Also, remember that the day is about BOTH OF YOU. The groom has to enjoy the day too!

Emily – I am a Materials Manager – I order and coordinate supplies for a local hospital. I get to shop and organize all day! Jim – Shop Foreman at an auto shop

Exploding wine. The end. 🙂Kris here again- HAHA ^^^this is such a funny story now… So… I sent them a bottle of wine to thank them for booking with me for their wedding photography- I later found out that the bottle I sent them wasn’t corked properly… causing the bottle to EXPLODE! Yes EXPLODE! Yikes! So much for a nice thank you gift! LOL
