Charleston SC Engagement Session

It has always been a dream of mine- to have a Charleston SC Engagement session!!!  And, thanks to Kelly and Jack… it came true!   When I first chatted with Kelly she had just moved to Charleston for work, and Jack went along!   They are loving their new life in the warm south.   I was proven right when we got to meet in person.  She and Jack were so much fun to work with- and I’m seriously looking forward to their wedding at the Bedford Village Inn.

We started their Charleston SC engagement session at Eli’s Table and enjoyed a glass of wine before heading out, on foot.

With each session,  I encourage every couple to let go of all expectations.  Because everyone is different… each session will unfold naturally.   And let me tell ya… Kelly and Jack’s session was perfect!!   Kelly was wearing this beautiful, yet simple flowy dress and had her hair and makeup professionally done at  The Pink Dot Beauty Bar!  To say she looked amazing would be an understatement!   Now let’s learn a little bit more about these two before heading below to see the pictures!!

Charleston SC Engagement Session!

• How did you two lovebirds meet?
  We met at a friend’s 30th birthday house party. Shoni is my friend from grad school and also turned out to be Jack’s roommate! At the party, I asked Jack if I could touch his beard and the rest is history.
• What did you do on your first date? (and was is fun, awkward, nervous etc)
  Jack and I went to Garden in the Cellar, a great restaurant in Cambridge that sadly closed a few years ago (although we were able to go back for our first anniversary). It was great! The conversation was easy and we found out that we both had tickets to see the same comedy show (Louis CK) in a few weeks
• How did he propose?
  In Washington DC in front of the reflecting pool. He got down on one knee and there are even a couple of photos because two tourists noticed and captured the moment for us.
• What do you both do for fun? Hobbies?
  Jack: guitar, video games, drawing, watching YouTube videos, photography Kelly: cooking, calligraphy (just started learning!), reading, podcasts Both: Netflix and playing with our cat Biscuit
• Do either of you have funny quirks or habits that drives the other nuts? (HAHA)
  Jack is really messy, Kelly hates talking on the phone and usually gets Jack to do it
• How are the wedding plans coming along? What are your wedding day visions?
  Very good, we only have small details left to figure out. Our vision is to embrace the romantic New England aesthetic and also throw a super fun party for our family and friends
• As a couple who is currently actively planning your wedding- can you offer any advice to other couples? What would be your biggest piece of advice?
  Plan early, try not to get overwhelmed, and leave a little room in your budget for the things you really want
